For this project we had to create an artwork dealing with the idea of bodily function. I decided to create a visual metaphor relating organs in the human body to how they are perceived in terms of worth. In the organ transplant cooler there are three organs; a lung, a heart, and a kidney and they are surrounded by gold coins like a treasure chest. The cooler sits on a silver tray with a blue towel from an OR room. The other piece is a linear steel frame of a trash can with a spleen, tonsils, and an appendix among a bunch of wisdom teeth. The trash can sits on the bare floor, and so do the organs.
