Drawing only the very outlines of objects, we were to leave the inside lines blank and pay attention to only the outside line details, allowing them to inform the viewer of what they were. The negative space behind the objects were then activated by darkening them with black charcoal to make the objects really pop. This was for my Drawing 1 class. That fan was the death of me.
