Made from Cardboard, the background that appears to be wallpaper is painted on with acrylic. The mice are made of paper with their details drawn on with pencil. The grunginess of the background is done with many layers of tea staining, coffee staining, and some rubbed dirt. The shapes of the mice cut out in the background are to symbolize that for every mouse you see, there are ten you do not. The ridges in the cardboard were taken advantage of to resemble the panelling behind dry wall in older homes.
