My name is Kyleen Kelly, and I’m currently a senior at West Virginia University. I’m majoring in Art Education with a studio emphasis in Sculpture, and I’m also minoring in Theater Production.
I grew up in a small town known as Berkeley Springs, in West Virginia. I have a large family, most of which reside near Berkeley. I have three sisters, two who are older and one younger. We all have very similar names, and in order they go as follows: Kayleen, Kristeen, Kyleen(me), and Kathleen.
I have many interests, some of which are Drawing (both traditionally and on the computer), Theater (both acting and behind the scenes), and Puppeteering. I was a puppeteer for eight years back in a troupe in my hometown, and I still step in and help when I can. I’ve been involved in the theater community since my Freshman year of High School when I took part in the theater department’s Beauty and the Beast, where I played a napkin in the Beast’s Castle. I’ve been in many other roles from the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz my senior year of high school, to Stage Managing three productions.
I’ve been interested in Art since third grade when I joined my art teacher’s weekly Advanced Art class, where we got out of class for a little while one day to go make art. The art we did there was more advanced than the regular art classes, and only certain students were allowed to join. This was when my love for making art came along. Since, I’ve done other art programs and classes including after school art programs, AP art classes, and in the summer I’ve even helped teach the craft class for my church’s Vacation Bible School.
